A large part of my work is the restoration of old canoes and small boats,
especially wood and canvas and lapstrake models. Past projects have included
Old Town canoes, Chestnut, Penn Yan, Kennebecks, Morris, Boston area canoe
companies, Rangeley's St Lawrence skiffs, Rushtons, Adirondack guideboats,
dories, skiffs, and dinghies. Some of the larger boats include Novi lobster
boats, runabouts and launches. I find that most of the boats and canoes that
I work on are restored for sentimental reasons - they have been passed down
in families from past generations.
I will also buy these "old" craft and sell them in restored condition or in
unrestored condition to a person who wants to do the restoration work
themselves.
